A flower shop owner from Turkey named Sinan Bicer has a pet squirrel named Mahmut, which he adopted after finding the animal as a baby inside a cut tree, as seen in Kadirli, Osmaniye, on Saturday.

The pair shares a symbiotic relationship that is unconventional, as can be seen from their interactions. Mahmut sits on his desk as Bicer gets work done. When Bicer meets his friends or goes into another shop, Mahmut accompanies him, sitting on his shoulders.

"We tried to leave it to nature twice. He came back to us twice. So we left it to nature, but it doesn't leave us. That's why we don't want to leave it anymore either," said Bicer.

The human-friendly squirrel visits other local shop owners, also attracting customers.

Bicer feels like Mahmut is now part of his family.
