Thousands of protesters marched through the streets of Barcelona on Thursday to rally against city management, especially the squatting.

Footage features people chanting slogans against the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, demanding her resignation. The protesters were also seen carrying banners and placards with some of them reading: 'Colau, PSC, ERC support criminals', 'Agenda 2030 global dictatorship', and 'Barcelona does not like you', among others.

The protest comes days ahead of the Barcelona Municipal elections that will be held on Sunday, 28 May 2023, to elect the 12th City Council of the municipality of Barcelona.

Ada Colau has been the mayor of Barcelona since 2015 and hopes to remain in charge of the Catalan capital for four more years in the upcoming municipal vote.
