Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning labelled as ‘collective false information’ the accusations made by western intelligence agencies that Beijing has been spying on several critical infrastructure organiwations in the US.
“As we all know, the Five Eyes Alliance is the largest intelligence organisation in the world, and the United States National Security Agency is the largest hacker organisation in the world. It is ironic that they work together to release false information reports,” Ning stated during her daily briefing on Thursday in Beijing.
She continued by saying that government agencies such as the National Security Agency of the US and relevant agencies of the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and other countries have also issued similar reports.
“It is obvious that this is a collective false information action taken by the five-eye countries by the United States for geopolitical purposes," she affirmed.
During her speech, Ning declared that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine was ‘originally an avoidable tragedy’, and stated that Beijing has always stood firmly on the side of peace.
"The essence of the crisis in Ukraine is the outbreak of contradictions in European security governance. On the Ukraine crisis, China has always decided its position in accordance with the rights and wrongs of the matter itself. China is willing to work with the international community to continue to play a constructive role in promoting the political settlement of the crisis in Ukraine," Ning declared.
She also commented on outgoing Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez’ remarks, who reportedly said on Wednesday that his country is ready to trade with China but would resist the temptation to renounce its support for Taiwan diplomatically, and said that the one-China principle is a universally recognised norm governing international relations and the general consensus of the international community.
