Hundreds of fans gathered outside Tina Turner's home to bid farewell to the Queen of Rock ’n' Roll in Kusnacht, Switzerland, on Thursday.

Footage shows the doorway to the singer's house covered in flowers, farewell letters, and other gifts to say goodbye. Fans could also be seen laying tributes, as journalists reported on the singer’s passing.

Turner shot to fame in the 1950s as part of the 'Ike and Tina Turner Revue' and subsequently launched a successful solo career with hits including 'What’s love got to do with it’ and 'The Best’, winning her eight Grammy Awards along the way.

"With her, the world loses a music legend and role model," her spokesperson, Bernard Doherty, said in a press release.

She died at home on Wednesday after a long, unspecified illness, and will have a private funeral ceremony.
