Hundreds of people gathered on Thursday in Uvalde, Texas, to hold a vigil honouring the 19 children and two Teachers who got killed in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School one year ago
Footage shows relatives and other participants gathering at the school and laying flowers at photos of the victims.
"We want to see something, you know, we want to see something done, you know, it is still, it has been a year already, which is unbelievable, again we still at the same spot where we were last year no answers no accountability nothing, that is the frustrating part for me personally, you know" said Oswaldo Berma, a participant.
A gunman stormed Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, killing 19 children and two teachers on May 24, 2022. Investigations revealed that law enforcement did not act appropriately in response to the shooting and waited 77 minutes to confront the gunman.
Gun murders have climbed sharply in US in recent years, increasing by 45 percent between 2019 and 2021.
