Colombia: Molotov cocktails and tear gas fly as students clash with police at protest in Bogota
Students from public universities located in the city of Bogota took to the main avenues of the city on Thursday to march towards the Ministry of Education.
Reportedly, they demanded recognition of higher education as a right and not a service and also urged the dismantling of the Mobile Anti-Riot Squadron (ESMAD).
At some point the protest turned into a riot, with masked protesters throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at the police while the officers responded with tear gas and water cannons.
