Russia: 'China has made a tremendous jump in its development, and we even envy you a little bit' - Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the tremendous leap in China's development and stressed, saying that Russia is a bit envious of that, speaking during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow on Monday.
"China has created a very efficient system for developing the economy and strengthening the state. It is much more efficient than in many other countries of the world, it is an obvious fact," Putin said, adding that he was confident that under Xi’s leadership, China would make further steps in its development and achieve goals.
Vladimir Putin also stressed that he had been acquainted with China's proposals for resolving the crisis in Ukraine and was ready to discuss China's initiatives.
For his part, Xi Jinping noted that he had chosen Russia as the first country for a state visit after his recent re-election as president.
"In the development of Sino-Russian international strategic co-operation, we must on the one hand achieve the goals of justice and equality in the world, and on the other hand in this process achieve further development and prosperity in our countries," the Chinese leader added.
The Chinese president arrived in Moscow for an official visit on Monday. Bilateral talks between the heads of state are scheduled on Tuesday.
