A trilateral naval exercise involving warships and vessels of the Russian, Chinese and Iranian navies ended on Saturday. The footage, filmed in the waters of the Arabian Sea, showed the participants practising artillery firing at naval targets and training to free a hijacked vessel with hostages.
According to the Northern Fleet (NF) press service, the event included a training formation of an inter-ethnic detachment of warships, joint tactical manoeuvring in different lines and combat orders.
The Russian side was represented by NF ships: the frigate Admiral Gorshkov and the medium sea tanker Kama.
"The Chinese Navy was represented by the destroyer Nanjing and the Iranian Navy by the frigates Sakhand and Jamaran, corvette Bayandor, missile boat Tondar, small missile ship Zereh, supply vessel Sirzhan, transport ship Shahid Nazeri and other ships and vessels," the press service added.
After the naval part of the exercise ended, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov entered the Iranian port of Chabahar to summarise the results of the joint work at sea and replenish fresh water and food supplies.
The trilateral maritime stage of the drills 'Marine Security Belt - 2023' began on Wednesday in the waters of the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.
