Pakistan: Tear gas flies amid clashes between Imran Khan supporters and police
The Srinagar Highway in Islamabad became the scene of fierce clashes as police fired tear gas to disperse the supporters of the former Pakistani Prime Minister on Saturday.
The clashes came as Imran Khan made his way to the High Court where he was meant to attend a hearing on charges brought against him for selling state gifts. The court subsequently postponed the hearing as PTI protesters breached the premises of the court grounds and started pelting stones.
Police had earlier raided Khan's residence in Lahore after the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) left his home to head for the hearing.
