Pakistan: 'They have constructed an entire plan to arrest me' - Imran Khan on his way to Islamabad court

Former Pakistani Prime Minister and Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan claimed that the Pakistani government intends to arrest him, as he made his way to a court in Islamabad to appear before the judge in the Toshakhana (gift depository) corruption case.

"It shows their vindictiveness. I was going to the courts even before but they [the government] attacked my house. Their intention was not to have me at the court but to put me in jail," said Khan in a video message, seemingly recorded from inside his car, posted on Twitter.

The message came as Pakistani police reportedly entered the property of the former prime minister after Khan left the property to head to the court. Earlier, clashes had broken out between the ex-PM's supporters and security forces outside his Lahore residence.

Imran Khan is due to appear before the Islamabad High Court to attend a session related to the complaint filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan alleging that details of the gifts were hidden in his asset declarations.
