The traditional St Patrick's Day Parade, considered to be the world's largest and oldest, was held in New York City with the participation of thousands of residents and visitors on Friday.

Footage shows the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where the participants were marching while music bands performed traditional Irish music.

"The best is that everybody is Irish today, we are all one, New Yorkers, doesn't matter where you are from, we are all one people, that's how we have to be everyday," said Kenny, a resident.

St. Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious holiday that is celebrated annually on March 17th to honor the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. It is a public holiday in Ireland, and it is also widely celebrated in many other countries, particularly in the United States, where many cities hold parades and events to celebrate Irish culture.
