The city of Aitona’s landscape was covered with pink as the peach blossoming season begins.
Footage recorded on Friday showed flowers of peach and nectarine trees shading the landscape of the Catalan city in blushed colours while many visitors stopped by to admire the terrain and to take pictures in front of the blossoms.
"It is a very impressive landscape. It is one thing when you see it from the road, when you see fruit trees, but when you do the tour you realise it's so many kilometers of trees, all pink, an endless pink sea. It's very beautiful", said a visitor.
Aitona’s city council launched an initiative in March to promote the peach fields, in which they placed four fruit banks across the town. The idea reportedly aims to encourage visitors to take pictures in front of the tourist spots and post them on social media, bringing more engagement and visibility to the city.
