In the pink! Hundreds of flamingos stop off at Kazakhstan's Lake Karakol
Hundreds of flamingos were seen stopping off at Kazakhstan's Lake Karakol in Mangystau region, during their seasonal migration.
The footage, taken on Saturday, March 11, shows the graceful pink birds wandering around the lake and flying over the water.
The birds arrive at the lake every year during the spring and fall migrations. The first flock of birds arrived at Karakol in late January after wintering in India.
According to ornithologists, the birds have been flying home earlier in recent years due to climate change.
