A new museum opened in Manah on Monday aiming to highlight the unique character of the Sultanate of Oman and introduce its ancient history and renaissance with the use of some advanced technology.

Using interactive panels, video and sound, the halls for the 'Oman Across Ages' installation display several historical eras of the Gulf country from the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age, to the Islamic era.

"Everyone talks about museums of the future so we have reached this level where we translate the collection of holdings into a picture, video, or interactive game or stereoscopic, to have more interaction between the audience and the holdings," said Yaqzan Al-Harithi, director general of the Museum.

The design of the museum is also inspired by the shape of the Omani mountains.
