
Syria: Iraqi Popular Mobilisation Forces provide 500 prefabricated housing units to people affected by earthquake in Aleppo
As many as 500 prefabricated housing units provided by the Iraqi Popular Mobilisation Forces were being set up in the Jibrin area in Aleppo for the people affected by the earthquake on Saturday.
"This is the first phase of the residential complex project, 500 prefabricated housing forces, presented as a gift from the Iraqi Popular Mobilisation Units to the Syrians affected by the earthquake here in Aleppo Governorate," said Moayad Al-Saedy, a spokesperson for the Iraqi Relief Mobilisation Campaign.
According to the Popular Mobilisation Forces Authority, the technical and engineering cadres have started constructing the housing complex for the earthquake-affected in Aleppo, and the Syrian government will establish the infrastructure for the residential city.
"These housing units are composed of two rooms, a salon, and utilities, the space is about 36 square meters. It is being implemented in cooperation with the Iraqi brothers," said Jamal Karim, who acts as the Assistant Director of Technical Affairs in Aleppo city council.
Al-Hashd al-Sha'bi, also known as Popular Mobilization Forces, is an Iraqi state-backed umbrella organisation formed by over 60 armed factions, almost entirely Shia Muslim militias.
