
Russia: St Petersburg airport reopens following announcement of closed skies, suspended flights
Pulkovo Airport in St Petersburg reopened on Tuesday, following announcements that the skies would be closed and flights suspended.
Footage shows passengers in the airport building with planes in the sky overhead.
On Tuesday morning Pulkovo temporarily halted arrivals, as reported on the official Telegram channel of the government of St Petersburg.
The Russian Defence Ministry said that the air defence forces had held drills with fighter jets, practising the interaction between military and civilian authorities.
