Turkey: One person killed, several injured after new 5.5 earthquake in Malatya
One person was reported dead and several were injured after a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Malatya on Monday.
Footage shows collapsed buildings, rubble and dust rising. Rescuers - a mixture of locals, soldiers and emergency workers - were seen forming a line to carry a victim out of the rubble on a stretcher, and transferring them to a waiting ambulance.
Malatya Province in southeast Turkey was hard-hit by the deadly earthquakes earlier this month, which left over 2,000 people dead in the area, and dozens of buildings damaged.
The combined total death toll from the earlier quakes across Turkey and Syria is now over 50,000.
