
Poland: Duda welcomes Biden among other leaders for B9 Presidents’ Summit in Warsaw
President of Poland Andrzej Duda welcomed his US counterpart Joe Biden to the meeting of the Bucharest 9 (B9) organisation at the presidential palace in Warsaw on Wednesday.
Footage shows the leaders shaking hands, and posing for a group photo along with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, and Slovakian President Zuzana Caputova who was co-hosting the event.
Duda was also seen greeting Estonian President Alar Karis, Hungary’s Katalin Novak, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Bulgaria’s Rumen Radev and Egils Levits from Latvia.
The leaders were also joined by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The talks were focused on the stance of the group at the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 11-12, with the Ukraine conflict and regional security high on the agenda.
The B9 group comprises the nine NATO countries of eastern Europe: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
