
UK: Picasso, Cezanne, Freud together at luxury auction sale in London
The Auction House Christie's, in London, displayed several art pieces by some of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st centuries on Tuesday, ahead of its special evening sale.
The venue, founded in 1766, exhibited works by artists like Pablo Picasso, Paul Cezanne, Georg Baselitz and Lucian Freud.
Specialist in Post-War and Contemporary Art and Head of the Evening Auction Tessa Lord emphasised two paintings by Lucian Freud, 'Scillonian Beachscape' and 'Garden from the Window', as some of the highlights of the night.
Freud's paintings have an estimated price of between 3.5 to 5 million and 2.5 to 3.5 million pounds, respectively.
The sale will be held on the evening of 28 February and it will assemble works of art estimated to cost up to 20 million pounds.
