Bolivia: 'We are living in a dictatorship' - Protesters march for 'amnesty and freedom', present eight demands to govt
Scores of protesters marched through the streets of La Paz on Wednesday to demand the government's attention to the laws concerning democracy, justice, the release of political prisoners, and respect for the rule of law, among other demands, in Bolivia.
The protesters put forward eight demands to the government. The protests urged either the eight points to be fulfilled or for Bolivian President Luis Arce to be impeached. The demands include reformation in political, social and economic laws in Bolivia.
"We want Bolivia to have justice, for the 2019 political prisoners to be released. We are living in a dictatorship, and we don't want that", said a demonstrator during the rally.
Protests have intensified in Bolivia after the arrest of the governor of Santa Cruz and leader of the opposition Luis Fernando Camacho, on 28 December.
