    German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier met with the Chairman of the World Holocaust Remembrance Center 'Yad Vashem', Dani Dayan, in Berlin on Tuesday.

    Footage shows the two men greeting each other at the president’s official residence, Schloss Bellevue.

    67-year-old Dayan, who served as Israel’s Consul General in New York from 2016 to 2020 is visiting Germany for the first time.

    During his visit to Berlin, he will open an exhibition in the Bundestag and is also expected to meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, CDU leader Friedrich Merz, Finance Minister Christian Lindner and Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.
