Iranian powerlifter Abbas Moradzadeh was seen pulling a 13.4-tonne truck - with his neck - in Baharestan city on Saturday.
“I tested this ability in the gym one time and I become aware of my ability," he explained. "Another time, I tested it in the Tehran north-west competition and I saw that I could do it."
Footage shows the 33-year-old athlete placing the strapping attached to the lorry around his neck before leaning away and walking backwards, cheered on by locals and supporters.
According to eyewitnesses, he moved the lorry 45 metres in a time of 54 seconds, and the experienced lifter plans to register the feat in the Guinness Book of Records.
"Back in 2018, I set the record for hauling a 20-tonne truck for 20m in the international record-setting confederation IMARO. I hauled a Benz truck with a weight of 10 tonnes for 25m with a body weight of 84 kg uphill, and in the recent trailer truck dragging competition in Tehran," he added.
Moradzadeh hopes to use his achievements to assist and inspire other talented athletes from deprived parts of the area.
