Thousands marched against abortion and euthanasia in the French capital, 6,300 people according to police and 20,000 according to the organisers, to denounce the French government's policies on the matter.

The event took place as part of the 2023 edition of the 'Marche pour la Vie' (March For Life) that has been held each year since 2005 on the Sunday closest to the anniversary of the 1975 law that saw abortion become legal in France.

This year, the march was particularly focused on the debate surrounding euthanasia.

Meanwhile, FEMEN activists interrupted the anti-abortion rally, with topless activists chanting "Abortion is sacred," before they were escorted away.
