Chelsea FC coach Graham Potter admitted his new star signing, 22-year-old Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk, would need time to settle into the squad but could play a role in the next match against Liverpool, during a press briefing in London on Friday.

"Young player, an exciting player, fantastic speed," he enthused. "We’ve just got to help him adapt to the Premier League, adapt to us. He’s obviously come from a midseason break, so has not played so much football recently but has been training well."

Footage shows Potter admitting his winger might not be 100 percent ready, but would 'assess' his potential for the Saturday’s fixture.

"It is about how much he can do. I think 90 minutes, no. But, there is probably a role for him at some stage in the game," he stated.

Asked about the hype surrounding Mudryk, Potter said it was about making him comfortable.

"I think you’ve just got to help him, help him understand and help everybody understand that he is coming from a different country, a different league," he said. "He is a young player that’s got a lot of potential, a lot of upsides but at the same time he has a lot of good experiences already, so, exciting player."

Chelsea paid €100m for the player on an eight-and-a-half-year deal. Mudryk previously played for Shakhtar Donetsk.
