    India: World's longest cruise tour sails off in Uttar Pradesh

    The world’s longest cruise tour Ganga Vilas sailed off from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The journey is planned to cover a total distance of 3,200 km (about 2,000 miles) finishing at Dibrugarh in Assam passing Bangladesh.

    80 passengers are taking the longest voyage in the world during 50 days. The cruise will stop at more than 50 places, including World Heritage Sites on its way.

    The Ganga Vilas cruise would sail on two of the greatest rivers of India-Ganga and the Brahmaputra. After leaving Varanasi the cruise will pass through Ghazipur, Buxar, and Patna before reaching Kolkata. The cruise will stay on Bangladesh rivers for a fortnight and thereafter will return to India via Guwahati and reach Dibrugarh. The vessel will also pass through national parks and sanctuaries, including Sundarban Delta and Kaziranga National Park.
