    France: 'This year it's catastrophic' - Lack of snow makes ski resorts in Toulouse bear losses

    Business owners at ski resort in Toulouse facing the lack of tourists as the snowless winter leave the mountain slopes empty.

    The footage filmed on Saturday shows rare visitors enjoying the sunny day, while the skiing remains impossible.

    "Last year it was a great season, but this year it's catastrophic", said Nicolas, who owns a restaurant in the area. "It's not the first time there is not a lot of snow in December, but for the station to close, it is the first time", he added.

    According to local media, around this Christmas, France registered the highest temperatures since 1997, with at least 7 to 8 degrees more than the average. Many ski stations around the country, especially those located in lower in hight, were forced to close.
