Japan: Thousands of cosplay and anime fans attend Comiket festival
Thousands of cosplay and anime fans gathered in Tokyo on Friday for the Comiket festival, traditionally held at the end of the year.
Footage shows crowds of attendees, some dressed up in costumes of anime characters, exploring the hundreds of stalls inside the Tokyo Big Sight building where a variety of merchandise was on sale.
"It was terrible under the influence of the coronavirus, but I feel that finally, little by little, people are coming back," said one visitor, Ayane.
It was the first time the event had been held since the relaxation of entry restrictions for foreign tourists. A total of 160,000 visitors were expected to attend.
