The Toy Resurrection Clinic is an idea given out by artists Onewood and Lin Jianying, who combine their respective talents with the concept of the Toy Resurrection Clinic to create interesting works in Guangzhou, north east of China.

The initiative is committed to the rejuvenation of things, apparently seen as waste, but remade into useful items to be returned to people. They can be discarded, defined as useless objects, forgotten, neglected, dreams, stories, feelings and other things. Toy Resurrection Clinic searches for them to invest energy in recovery and presents them in the form of concept toys, art installations, comics, stories, videos, etc.

"The Clinic seems to be real, and it seems to be a fictional space, a story line, and there are many neglected things in it. These re-rescued raw materials may be items discarded by others, dreams forgotten by others, some neglected feelings and forgotten rural stories, and so on. We create them in new forms, hoping that these neglected things will be seen again”, explains the store co-founder, Lin Jianying.

Through the artists' hands, eliminated items become a new face and application. "Life always has a new beginning", justifies Jianying, showing an old electric switch that became a little doll.

"This switch is a common item that is pressed back and forth every day, just like a ‘good man.’ Some people we often see in our lives, including ourselves, also have such attributes. Do not reject others, and are often ignored. So, we made this toy: 'Switch good man'. We want to tell everyone that the switch is in our hands, we should love ourselves first, we can reject others, we can say yes, everything is decided by us, not others to switch”, she says.
