Qatar: 'Ready to win World Cup that Messi deserves' - Fans react after Argentina beat Croatia to reach final
Argentina and Croatia football fans filled the area around Lusail stadium in Doha on Tuesday, following the World Cup semi final which saw La Albiceleste record a 3-0 victory and progress to the final.
"We are ready to win the World Cup that Messi deserves." said Matias, an Argentina fan. "This is a new chance and the life is with him, so we are all excited and we're going to be there on Sunday."
Footage features football supporters waving Argentina and Croatia flags, as well as cardboard cut-outs of captain Lionel Messi and taking selfies together.
"I think Argentina were better all the game, I don’t know what happened to our players, they were static and slow," admitted Croatia fan Mateo. "Argentina played faster and more aggressive especially in the middle and defence, so that effects the attack also, they scored quite easy three goals and that’s it."
Two goals from Julian Alvarez and one from Messi put the result beyond doubt. Argentina now face either France or Morocco in the final on December 18.
Argentina's national football team faced its Croat rival on Tuesday to get one step close to the final battle of the World Cup 2022. Croatia received two goals scored by Julian Alvarez and one goal by Argentina's football star Lionel Messi.
