'Waste to Value' - Christmas in Capiovi looks more sustainable with decorations made out of recycled materials
Residents of Capiovi used recycled materials to create Christmas scenes and decorations throughout the city.
Footage filmed on Monday features giant Christmas trees decorated with colourful accessories, gift boxes, tiny houses, giant candies, pine fruits, leaves, and statues of Santas made of recycled materials, including bags of powdered milk, LED lights, deodorant balls, and plastic bottles.
"At first, it was difficult for us to collect the bottles, and after the second year when people saw what could be done, the mentality of the people changed, people come closer and bring materials," Marta Werle, President of the organising committee of 'Christmas in Capiovi', said.
The locals have already appreciated unusual environmetally friendly holiday decorations.
"The work that has been done is something highly valued, and they have to be very proud of what they are achieving in the city," one of the respondents shared.
