Thousands of football fans gathered in Dakar, on Monday, for an open-air fan mile to support their national football team in their entry at the Qatar World Cup.

Thousands of fans were dressed or decorated in Senegal's characteristic national colours watched along, as The Lions were beaten by the Netherlands (2-0).

"Unfortunately we lost. It's not what we wanted but in the end, God wanted it that way. We can't help it. I can say that I'm half disappointed but I always hope that in the two games that will come, we will win inshallah," a fan commented.

Senegal will face the host coutry Qatar in their next World Cup outing on Friday.
