Indonesia: Lavrov and UN Secretary-General Guterres discuss grain deal on sidelines of G20
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali on Tuesday.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry's press service, the two reviewed the implementation of the Istanbul agreements on the export of Ukrainian grain from Black Sea ports, as well as restoring the supply of Russian agricultural products and fertilisers to world markets.
The deals were signed between the UN, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine in July, and are due to expire on November 19. Moscow has repeatedly insisted that while Ukrainian ports are unblocked, its own exports have been severely restricted by Western sanctions.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that talks on the grain deal included 'parity of implementation'.
The G20 summit takes place in Indonesia on November 15-16. Top officials from Russia, China, UK, USA, Mexico, Argentina, India, Germany, France, Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, South Korea, South Africa, Italy, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia and others are attending.
