Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali on Tuesday.

Chinese Foreign Minister stated that Beijing opposed the exclusion of Russia from the G20 and other international platforms.

"We believe that no one has the right to take away Russia's rational right within multilateral formats," Wang Yi said.

In his turn, the Russian top diplomat congratulated members of Chinese delegation on the successful 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and the re-election of the 'old friend of the Russian people' Xi Jinping as CPC Central Committee Secretary General. Lavrov also expressed confidence that Russia and China will now be able to 'find new opportunities to develop bilateral ties more fully'.

The ministers also mentioned 'fake news created by the western media' on Lavrov's hospitalisation on Monday upon arrival in Bali.

"I immediately realised it was a fake", - Wang Yi underlined.

The Group of Twenty (G20) summit is being held in Indonesia on November 15-16. Leaders from Russia, China, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, India, Germany, France, Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, South Korea, South Africa, Italy, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia and the European Union are expected to visit the island.
