
Brazil: Thousands of Flamengo fans flock to streets of Rio to celebrate team's third Copa Libertadores title
Flamengo players celebrated with thousands of fans on the streets of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, after winning their third Copa Libertadores title.
The football team arrived by bus at the parade to celebrate their victory.
"Flamengo, favela, party and now with all of you DJ Zulu," said star striker Gabriel Barbosa, whose goal gave the team a 1-0 victory in the final against Athletico Paranaens on October 29.
"It's so exciting, for the second time, and I'm 27, never saw this in my life, 27 years and go Flamengo, I love it" said Wesley Santos a Flamengo Fan.
The team also lifted the trophy in 1981 and 2019. This year's celebrations were postponed due to the the country's presidential election.
