
South Korea: 7 dead as authorities continue tackling shopping outlet fire in Daejeon
Dozens of firefighters were seen tackling the remains of a blaze that claimed the lives of seven people at a shopping centre in Daejeon on Monday.
The fire at Hyundai Premium Outlet broke out in the early hours and was seen to be mostly under control, with a small amount of smoke visible at the main building.
The firefighters and other civil defence workers continued the search for missing people inside the building.
According to official reports, the fire started on the basement floor while the cause is still unknown. Around 20 fire trucks and 126 fire crew members were dispatched to the scene, finding seven dead and one other person injured.
