
State of Palestine: Funeral for veteran Palestinian journalist killed in West Bank takes place in Ramallah
The corpse of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, shot dead while covering an Israeli raid on Jenin, arrived on Thursday at the presidential compound in Ramallah for a memorial ceremony.
Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian with over two decades of experience, was killed on Wednesday in the city of Jenin, in the northern part of the West Bank.
Palestinian authorities claim that the Israeli military shot her in the head.
Israeli military suggested that Shireen might have been killed by stray fire from Palestinians, and defence minister Benny Gantz announced an investigation.
