Germany: Hundreds join Immortal Regiment march in Berlin
Hundreds of residents joined Immortal Regiment march to commemorate Victory Day in Berlin, as footage filmed on Monday shows.
Event participants can be seen holding banners and photos of Soviet soldiers.
"For us, living here in Germany, at such a time, this is very important. There is a lot of injustice. I believe that we need to remember always and everywhere, and in any situation to remain human," one of the participants said.
Footage also features two men arguing with one of them being later detained by the police.
"Today, the Berlin police are again on duty throughout the city with 1,800 emergency services. The task is the same as yesterday. We have 21 events in this city today, most of which are dedicated to commemoration. But there are also protests and assemblies, which we will make possible at different places," Anja Dierschke, Berlin police deputy spokesperson, said.
