
Belarus: Thousands take part in 'March of generations' during Victory Day in Minsk
Thousands of Belarus citizens took part in the 'March of generations' on Monday to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Victory on the Eastern Front of World War II.
The column, heading to the Victory Square stretched out for several kilometres.
According to the organisers, more than 20 thousand people took part in the action.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko also took part in the march and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame. After that, a moment of silence was observed to honour the victims.
In addition, the politician delivered a speech to the gathered people.
A concert on Victory Square took place in the evening and a colourful fireworks lit up the skies afterwards.
