Russia: Military equipment roars through Tverskaya Square ahead of V-Day parade

Heavy military hardware rolled through Tverskay street in Moscow on Monday, before annual Victory Day parade kicks off marking the 77th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.

Footage shows military vehicles, including multiple rocket launcher Tornado-G and ballistic missile RS-24 Yars, moving through the center of the city.


A column of 131 weapon systems drove along the Moscow streets, according to Russian Defence Ministry.


Thirty-three parade groups with a total of over 11,000 military personnel assembled for the rehearsal. The main city streets were closed to traffic during the training.


The Victory Parade is traditionally held on May 9 in Moscow's Red Square, as well as all around Russia.
