    German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that Germany will 'defend justice and freedom on the side of those being attacked,' speaking in a televised address to the nation on Sunday.

    "Once Russians and Ukrainians fought together at the greatest sacrifice to put down Germany's murderous Nazism," he added.

    The Chancellor mentioned that both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers fought against the 'murderous Nazism' and that Germany was guilty of both nations.

    "In the current situation, this can only mean, we defend justice and freedom on the side of those being attacked, we support Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor," said Scholz.
