
Russia: V-day parade rehearsals take place in St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg
Dress rehearsals of the Victory Day Parade in commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War were held in Saint Petersburg and Yekaterinburg on Saturday.
According to the press service of the Western Military District, more than four thousand servicemen and 80 units of military equipment participated in the rehearsal at Palace Square.
As reported, this year, the Bastion coastal missile systems will be shown at the parade in St. Petersburg, for the first time in history.
At the same time, about 2,500 military personnel and more than 50 units of equipment took part in the dress rehearsal in Yekaterinburg.
Crews of operational-tactical and transport aviation of the Central Military District with the Victory Banner and portraits of front-line soldiers will, reportedly, take part in the parade.
The Victory Parade will traditionally be held on May 9 in Moscow and other Russian cities.
