
Ukraine: Aftermath of reported Tochka-U attack in Melitopol
Footage filmed on Saturday features the aftermath of an alleged strike of a Tochka-U missile equipped with a cluster warhead in a residential area of Melitopol that occurred on Friday.
Damaged houses, as well as burnt vehicles, can be seen at the site.
The owner of a damaged house said that the attack took place in the early morning when he and his family were sleeping inside.
"It all exploded, started burning. This is what's left," the man added.
Footage also features missile wreckage that fell near the city of Berdyansk on Saturday.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson, Igor Konashenkov, the strikes were launched from Kiev-controlled territory and repelled by Russian Air Defence assets.
Ukrainian authorities haven't commented on the incident so far.
On the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military offensive against Ukraine.
On February 21, he had signed decrees recognising the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR).
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed martial law throughout the country and announced a general mobilisation.
Russia's military offensive has drawn international condemnation from the EU, UK, and US, among other countries, and led to heavy sanctions imposed on Moscow.
