    Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic handed Hollywood actor Johnny Depp an award called 'Gold Medal of Merit' for promoting the country, during the Statehood Day ceremony in Belgrade on Tuesday.

    Depp has been involved in several cultural projects in Serbia, including the shooting of scenes for the upcoming film 'Minimata' and a leading role in the animated series 'Puffins unlimited.'

    Depp gave a speech in which he said he is on the verge of a new life and "would love" if his "new beginning" started in Serbia.
