
China: Actor Jackie Chan carries Olympic torch on the Great Wall
Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan participated in a leg of the 2022 Winter Olympics torch relay at the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing's Yanqing district on Thursday.
Chan was one of 40 torchbearers who carried the flame on the second day of the relay over a total distance of 1.47 kilometers.
The flame, a symbol of the Olympic spirit, will be relieved by about 1,200 torchbearers. Among them, the oldest is 86 years old, the youngest 14, and 57 percent are frontline workers, according to the Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee.
The Olympic torch will light the main cauldron of the National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, at the opening ceremony on Friday.
