The city of Harbin in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang is hosting the Harbin Sun Island International Snow Art Expo from December 2021 to February 2022, as can be seen in the footage taken on Wednesday. This major exposition shows a variety of snow sculptures in an event that has become an iconic event of this category for the last years. Particularly, with the upcoming Beijing Winter Games 2022, there are dedicated sculptures in this year's edition.
“I've been here many times, more than two or three times, almost every year. Because there are different innovative works every year, I want to see what different features there are every year," said Wang Qingwen.
“I came to the Snow Festival because it is an activity held every year in Harbin, and the Snow Expo is a symbol of the Northeast Ice City. People in the Northeast like the Ice and Snow Festival very much. And this year I saw a lot of promotion of the Ice and Snow Festival on social media, which is better than in previous years, so I came as soon as possible today, and I'm in no hurry to leave," said Li Wenjie, a visitor of the expo.
The Snow Art Expo shows different cultural sculptures of other countries, such as Russia, Italy, French, Canada, Japan, or North Korea, and attracts visitors from all over China.
