
USA: Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes convicted of four counts of fraud
Founder of health-tech startup Theranos, Elizabeth Holmes, was convicted of four out of eight charges made against her at a courthouse in San Francisco on Tuesday.
According to the verdict, Holmes has been found guilty of three charges of wire fraud and one of conspiracy to commit fraud against investors.
The disgraced startup founder misled investors regarding the blood-testing capabilities of her company and currently faces a prospect of decades in prison.
The jury remains deadlocked on three of the 11 charges and an upcoming hearing is scheduled to take place next week.
