Landis Sims, a 16-year-old Indiana high school student who born without hands and legs, was seen showing off his baseball skills at the Jay Sorg Baseball Academy in New Albany on Thursday.
Sports phenomenon Landis Sims was seen using his prosthetic limbs to help swing a baseball bat, as his coach gave directions.
"I'm always trying to, you know, make myself a role model for anybody with a disability, I'm just trying to show them that they can do whatever they want," said Sims.
Regarding his future goals, Sims said that his 'biggest goal' was to participate in the Paralympic Games.
Sims' mother, Amanda Sims, had first learnt of his disability during a diagnostic ultrasound two months before he was born.
"He couldn't hold a glove like everybody else, he couldn't throw the way everybody else threw, he couldn't hit the way everybody else threw so it was finding the tools that made it possible for him and then him working hard to be able to utilise that," explained Amanda Sims.
In addition to his baseball prowess, Sims is an avid basketball lover and enjoys spending time on the court, surprising people with his skills there too.
