Alireza Sadeghi Barzani of Isfahan province holds the world record for longest basketball kicked or punched into a basketball hoop with an impressive distance of 15 metres. Footage filmed in an Isfahan gym on Wednesday shows Barzani repeating his record with ease.

The record was documented in the UAE by the Guinness World Records but Barzani says that is not even his personal best.

"My record is set for 15 metres, but my real record was not 15 metres, it was between 20 and 23 metres. God willing, if the necessary support is provided, my real goal is to be able to set this real record. Because, in my opinion, 15 metres is not a special number,” Barzani stated

Alireza Sadeghi Barzani was diagnosed with polio when he was only two years old making him unable to walk on his own at a young age.

His disability has made him find creative ways he can still be athletic, he even says he has other ideas for another world record up his sleeve.

"I have a very interesting idea, which in itself can be a very attractive record. I can hit the ball kick the ball with my crutch cane on one side of the field into the basketball hoop on the other side of the field. This can also be a record in its own right," he said.

Barzani trained for 11 years to make this world record with a strenuous workout routine he does three times a week to keep him in shape to punt the ball with his hand.
