Embrace your ancient Greek spirit in Litochoro's 'Prometheia' festival
Thousands of people wearing ancient Greek costumes attended the traditional Prometheia festival in Litochoro, at the foot of Mount Olympus, on Saturday.
Born 26 years ago out of an idea of the Stockholm University Professor of Philosophy, Dr Tryphon Olympios, the festival has now become a Pan-Hellenic institution.
Visitors exchanged opinions, honoured the ancient philosophers and the gods, and marched through town with firesticks.
In 2021, the celebrations will last from July 8 to July 11.
