Former US Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton offered a joint message of success to US President Joe Biden, at the inauguration ceremony in Washington DC, on Wednesday.

The three former leaders stressed the importance of US unity, relaying Biden’s inaugural speech, Obama said, "I think that was the theme of Joe's inaugural speech and I think all of us have discovered that we are at our best when we are all moving in the same direction."

Former Republican President Bush said, "I think that the fact that the three of us are standing here talking about a peaceful transfer of powers speaks to the institutional integrity of our country." Notably absent from the ceremony was the outgoing President Donald Trump, who had left for Florida before Biden’s inauguration.

He expressed his well wishes to Biden, saying, "Mr President I am pulling for your success is our country's success and god bless you."

Clinton also showed his support to the new administration, stating, "I am glad you are there and I wish you well, you have spoken to us today, now you will lead for us and we are ready to march with you."
